* [platform/devel-riscvplatforms PATCHv1 0/2] New RISC-V patches @ 2020-05-11 17:20 Daniel Schaefer 2020-05-11 17:20 ` [platform/devel-riscvplatforms PATCHv1 1/2] ProcessorPkg/RiscVOpensbLlib: Add submodule opensbi Daniel Schaefer ` (2 more replies) 0 siblings, 3 replies; 7+ messages in thread From: Daniel Schaefer @ 2020-05-11 17:20 UTC (permalink / raw) To: devel; +Cc: Gilbert Chen, Abner Chang, Leif Lindholm, Michael D Kinney We have moved most of our RISC-V implementation to edk2-platforms now, only the absolute minimum is in edk2, already merged. All other patches going into edk2-platforms have already been merged, these are new. The first adds opensbi as a submodule. We wanted to have it reviewed because it would be the first submodule in the edk2-platforms repository. Is that okay? Since we are now running PEI in addition to DXE in S-Mode (like Ring 3 in x86), we need to call into the SBI interface. The new library provides an interface for EDK2 code to do that. It just wraps the ecall assembly instruction as a C interface with EDK2-style return codes. Am I on the wrong timeline? Yes, that's a good idea. I'll include Base.h We have abandoned the branch RISC-V-V2 on edk2-staging. Like mentioned in the cover letter, we only merged the bare minimum to edk2 and will include all of the remaining code in edk2-platforms. Yes, we don't use it currently but we need to define it, because in the OpenSBI header it's guarded by #ifndef OPENSBI_EXTERNAL_SBI_TYPES, which we define to override their types. > >> + >> +typedef BOOLEAN bool; >> +typedef unsigned long ulong; >> +typedef UINT64 uintptr_t; >> +typedef UINT64 size_t; >> +typedef INT64 ssize_t; >> +typedef UINT64 virtual_addr_t; >> +typedef UINT64 virtual_size_t; >> +typedef UINT64 physical_addr_t; >> +typedef UINT64 physical_size_t; >> + >> +#define __packed __attribute__((packed)) >> +#define __noreturn __attribute__((noreturn)) >> + >> +#define likely(x) __builtin_expect((x), 1) >> +#define unlikely(x) __builtin_expect((x), 0) > It may be premature to start worrying about support in non-gcc-like > toolchains, but if that *does* happen, it might be nicer if it fails > with a clear error message about "unsupported toolchain" (Base.h uses > #if defined(__GNUC__) || defined(__clang__) > ).
