Ok it seems again that I've hit a XY problem.

I thought that solution might have been the standard way to do it... if it's not, I don't want to do anything that possibly breaks the spec. That would require a way more thorough understanding of the UEFI model. 

My root problem is: have a console application stored in EEPROM, always run.

I'll look into your suggestions today as it seems that might be what I'm looking for.
